• The Only One Allowed to Defeat You: Kaiba doesn’t take the news of Yami Yugi’s defeat so well at all. He’s actually insulted by the notion that his duel rival and champion lost to a complete, random nobody from an organization they know nothing about.
• Skewed Priorities: Joey tells Kaiba that Yugi's soul is captured following Yami's loss to Rafael, but Tristan reminds him that Kaiba will never believe in the mystic crisis. As expected, Kaiba is more pissed about "Yugi" losing to a random duelist than what's truly at stake and hangs up before Yami has a chance to explain.
• Suddenly Shouting: Kaiba's reaction when he was told that Yugi, the King of Games, lost to Rafael.

  Seto Kaiba: YUGI LOST?!

• Took a Level in Badass: Weevil and Rex gain the power of the Orichalcos and get to upgrade their decks.
• What the Hell, Hero?: Rebecca calls out Yami for playing the Seal of Orichalcos in the last episode, even though he knew the card was evil. Yugi's soul was taken away after using the Millennium Puzzle to break the seal and take Yami's place. A sobbing Rebecca said it should've been Yami, not Yugi, to lose his soul. Of course, Yami is so wracked with guilt that he doesn't bother to defend himself or his actions.
  • Kaiba also calls out Yami Yugi for losing to a random guy who isn't him.
    Kaiba: Yugi gave his Duel Monsters championship crown to some nobody!? No one deserves that title but me!
    Yami: Hold on...
    Kaiba: I don't want to hear another word! You're a disgrace to the game, Yugi!
