In The Tag, Pastor Jeff is in the mall looking at the toaster oven again while trying to just walk away, only to return and grab it while apologizing to God for his weakness.
- Control Freak: As per usual, Mary steals everyone's stuff to force her beliefs on the rest of the family.
- Empty Nest: Mary starts experiencing this after Sheldon considers going to college full-time, and Georgie gets a job at Dale's store and starts making money.
- Greed: The Central Theme of the episode. Mary feels her family is becoming corrupted by greed, since Georgie see Dale convincing people to spend extra money on stuff they don't need at his job, George is getting multiple offers from the school and university to try to keep Sheldon there, and the whole family starts thinking they can do whatever they want once they have money.
