- Freudian Slip: Captain Marvel accidentally reveals something about Herakles while talking to Paul.Captain Marvel: Um. Better I have Herakles's strength than he does, right?
Paul: Is that how it- [Captain Marvel covers his mouth] -works?
Captain Marvel: Can.. you.. pretend I didn't say that?
Paul: Say what? Also, on an unrelated matter, Herakles is an evil man who at the very least deserves whatever's happened to him, though I have no idea what that is. - Jumped at the Call: Despite not being one of those contacted, Tyr shows up at Olympus with five thousand years worth of references and an eagerness to join in a more proactive (and less back-stabby) pantheon.

- Order vs. Chaos: Zagreus remarks that Paul's carefully planned chaos is much more intimidating than Eris' more impulsive, random chaos.
- Shapeshifter Mode Lock: With Zeus' lightning locked away, Captain Marvel can't transform back into Billy Batson. Even applying a related form of lightning, from Osiris' transformation, doesn't help.
- Shout-Out: Paul quotes Vegeta when Robin critiques his choice of civilian wear."Y'all just jealous of my Orange Lantern swagger."
- Wham Line: After Lady Liberty says no one's seen Uncle Sam in decades, OL replies that he's been in Washington for the last few months. This causes her to respond by saying:"Orange Lantern, I've known Uncle Sam for longer than anyone. I don't know who that person in Washington is, but they aren't Uncle Sam."
