Tropes

  • Big Damn Heroes: When Decker is losing his fight to Deathdrago due to his injuries sustained as Kanata, Miclas' card appears before Kanata and allows him to summon the Capsule Monster to fight Deathdrago and injure it so he can leave it open for a counterattack at more even terms.
  • Continuity Nod: Deathdrago's previous appearances are brought up by Captain Murahoshi here when it emerges, even mentioning how Chairman Shizuma blew one of its horns off to stop the first one's rampage. Too bad for GUTS Select it doesn't works.
  • Mythology Gag: Like Dan Moroboshi/Ultraseven in Ultraman Leo, Kanata's leg is injured and leaves him weaker in his transformed Ultraman state, and forces him to rely on his Capsule Monsters when faced with an enemy no one else can defeat at the time.
  • Wham Line: The episode opens to reveal that one year has passed since the Spheres took over and ever since Decker hasn't appeared.
  • Worf Had the Flu: Kanata would likely have beaten Deathdrago as Decker if his leg hadn't been injured in his human form. Luckily for him, Miclas roughs up the kaiju to make things even
