The Decepticons hit New York City, and most definitely not for the sights. Instead, New Yorkers may have to get used to living in vastly different conditions. Even worse, the Decepticons foil Optimus' attempt to stop them and exact a vicious toll on him. Now, in addition to undoing what has been done to New York City, the other Autobots must rebuild their leader from numerous parts. Problem is, they will have to scour the city first to do so.

- Big Applesauce: New York became the new backdrop for the battle between Autobots and Decepticons.
- Hoist by Their Own Petard: Devastator gets beaten down after Optimus takes control of his arm that held his blaster which was placed there as a turret by the Constructicons.
- Pulling Themselves Together: Even though he threatens to terminate Optimus if the Autobots continue to interfere with the Decepticons' fortress project, he decides to keep them busy by having the Constructicons take him apart and scatter his pieces all over the city. The Autobots retrieve the head before gathering the rest of him, with his firing arm the last one used for the fortress.
- Sewer Gator: Parts of Optimus were used to build the Alligaticon, which the Autobots find in the sewers of New York.
- Shout-Out: The final parts of the episode mirrors the climatic scene from the film King Kong. Wheeljack even references it.
- A Taste of Their Own Medicine: The Decepticons attacked from below to capture Optimus so Ratchet and Ironhide return the favor.
