The episode opens with future Kevin explaining that Wayne has been bullying him since he was young. Meanwhile, Kevin and Paul are unable to turn in a science project on time, and Mr. Cantwell gives them until the weekend to finish. They decide to do a project involving the school hamster, feeding it junk food. On the schoolbus, Wayne takes the hamster and acts cruel, until he sees his crush Angela, whom he bothers. At home, Kevin is horrified to see that his parents are going out, worried about what Wayne will do to the hamster. Kevin is relieved when Karen is put in charge, until she decides to leave the house after their parents do. Wayne tells Kevin and Paul to stay in Kevin's room and that he'd better not see them. While working on their project, they find that they forgot the soda to give the hamster, and Paul eventually convinces Kevin that the hamster needs a drink of water, which means leaving the room. Kevin observes Wayne on the phone with Angela, begging her to come over. Kevin ends up not giving the hamster the water, but Wayne comes into their room with a vaccum, and accidentally sucks up and kills the hamster. Kevin then scolds Wayne, telling him that his attitude is why Angela wouldn't come over, and that no one likes him. Wayne later apologizes to Kevin, but soon after, he goes back to picking on Kevin.
