Allies and enemies converge at the Blue Water Inn, and it's learned that a few thefts could lead to disaster for all of Barovia.
  • Cliffhanger: Unlike the last season of Ravenloft, this episode concludes in a manner that leads to a lot of new plot hooks. To wit: the party ends up making deals with both Jack and an ominous bishop in order to traverse the mist and chase down the theft of a vampire-slaying artifact, with the season ending right as they leave Ravenloft and arrive in Dementlieu, another Domain of Dread.
  • Deal with the Devil: In order to expedite the party's search for what they need, the party agrees to owe Jack "a favor" in exchange for his help. Jack keeps his end of the bargain, preventing some potential dangers as well as more accurately instructing them on how to traverse the mist by using an item as a focus.
  • Drowning My Sorrows: Brand's in this state when the episode begins, drinking at the Blue Water Inn's bar after his recent near-death experiences.
  • Internal Reveal: Thanks to the masked bishop's observation of his nature, as well as some comments from the rest of the party, Brand finally realizes he's not just a strange Ork.
  • Morality Pet: Brand is Jack's, thanks to their similar chaotic natures and how Brand's the only party member to never be apprehensive with him. The Pumpkin King feels genuinely sorry about Brand not enjoying his carnival, and makes it up to him by removing all his exhaustion that night at no extra cost.
  • Tragic Keepsake: Brand (drunk from drowning his sorrows) finally admits to stealing the werewolf claw from Sophia's house, and nearly gets killed for it. When Kapnos asks about it, Sophia reveals it's the remains of someone she and the Alpha once knew.
  • White Mask of Doom: While searching the mausoleum Jack brought the party to in order to find a mask, the party meets an eerie bishop in a white porcelain mask (no relation to Alivast), who gives them exactly what they want while expressing interest in their plans and knowing a lot more about them than he should.
