- Loophole Abuse: In exchange for his freedom, Papa Smurf agrees to help Gargamel cheat in a test of magical wits set up by the Order Of Sorcerers. Nevertheless, Gargamel fails the test despite Papa Smurf's help. Gargamel then set Papa Smurf free by giving him to the sorcerers as a bribe for passing the test.
- Quicksand Sucks: Smurfette leads the two sorcerers from The Order Of Sorcerers into a marsh to find a fictional rogue witch named Pustula, only for the sorcerers to be sunk into hidden marsh waters that act like quicksand, giving Smurfette time to escape.
