The Smurfs discover a fountain of youth hidden in a cave in the forest and decide that they're going to take some to give Papa Smurf the gift of youth. However, a troll who guards the fountain won't let the Smurfs take any unless they gave him something valuable in return, and so he takes Papa Smurf's book of favorite things as payment. When Papa Smurf does drink the water from the fountain, he gets turned into a rambunctious Smurfling, and now the Smurfs must find a way to return Papa Smurf back to his normal age and get back his book from the troll.
