Bentley is going through personal crisis and runs away from home to live in Bert and Cedric's fort. Meanwhile, the Sneer Mansion's new computerized security system malfunctions and attempts to kill Cyril and the Pigs.
Trouble Shooter! contains examples of:
- An Aesop: Running away from your problems isn't going to solve them. It takes real courage to tackle them head on.
- …And That Little Girl Was Me: To convince Bentley to own up to his mistakes and come back home, Cyril tells him a story about a boy who ran away from home and became rich, but suffered through plenty of years of loneliness and lost time no amount of money could buy back. Bentley guesses that Cyril was the boy in that story and Cyril reacting in silence heavily implies that Bentley is right.
- Bittersweet Ending: Bentley is safely returned home, but his parents still punish him for trying to change his math grades and running away. He doesn't mind, though, as he's learned his lesson.
- Early-Bird Cameo: Bentley's parents, George and Nicole, make voiceless appearances in Bentley's flashback of his childhood. They become recurring characters two seasons later, starting with "Moving In!".
- Enemy Compassion: When Cyril finds Bentley running away after believing he can't stay with Bert, Ralph, and Melissa anymore, he convinces Bentley to work things out with his parents so he can take him home.
- Felony Misdemeanor: Bentley views changing his math mark electronically as a major crime, which is a sentiment Bert seems to share, referring to him as a fugitive.
- Happier Times Montage: Bentley has a flashback of all the times his parents cared for him when he was younger, which makes him realize how much he actually misses them.
- Oblivious Guilt Slinging:
- Bert does this by giving Bentley a college mathematics book, which makes him accuse Bert of calling his parents. Bert is a little Late to the Realization that Bentley failed his math class and ran away because of it.
- After saving Cyril from the malfunctioning security system, Bentley feels guilty about running away from home when Cyril tells him that he's destined for greatness once he finishes school.
- Out-of-Context Eavesdropping: After overhearing a conversation between Bert, Ralph, and Melissa, Bentley thinks he's no longer allowed to stay with them and runs away yet again. What they were actually talking about was cutting an article from the latest edition of the Evergreen Standard.
- The Runaway: Bentley runs away from his parents after failing his math class and attempting to change his mark.
- School Grade Hacking: Bentley used his laptop to hack into his school's database and give himself better math grades, which led to him running away from home before his parents found out.
- You Are Grounded!: Bentley's punishment for running away from home and trying to give himself a better mark is being grounded for a month and being forced to stay after school for the rest of the term. Bentley is OK with it, though, as he's learned his lesson.
