While getting a tooth filled, Oscar comes across another "sure thing": a super-glue his dentist made based on barnacles. Despite Oscar's best efforts, he can't get Felix to back the project... until he convinces Gloria to put up money.
This episode includes examples of the following tropes:
- Crippling Overspecialization: The barnacle glue holds things together inseparably...as long as it's wet. By the demonstration, it has finally dried, and the objects it bonded together separate easily. However, the dentist does receive a grant from backers who think he might fix the problem given time and money.
- Manchild: "Pop" Abernathy happily accepts the stuffed horse Felix uses during the presentation and calls it a "horsey." He also leaves after Felix has finished his story about the history of glue, saying he only sticks around for the stories.
- Opinion Flip Flop: Felix insists that the business idea is too risky and scolds Oscar for taking advantage of the other investors. However, after talking to Gloria about it, he becomes so enthusiastic that he runs roughshod over Oscar.
- Tempting Fate: After scolding Oscar talking Murray and Myrna into investing, Felix asks what unfortunate naif he's convinced to front most of the money. Oscar answers that Gloria did.
- Visual Pun: While turning down Oscar's investing pitch, Felix lowers the dentist chair in which he's sitting. Then he says he's sorry for the letdown.
