Recap / The New Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh S 1 E21b Tigger Private Ear

Go To

When Tigger finds Owl's missing reading glasses (on top of his head), he decides to become a "private ear". When no customers come to him, he decides to create cases himself and show the others his detective skills. He creates a missing honey mystery to earn his reputation. But it goes too far, and Piglet is accused of taking the honey! Can (and will) Tigger clear Piglet's name?

This episode provides examples of:

  • Court Room Episode: Half of the episode is this.
  • Deconstruction: Of the detective mystery genre. Tigger himself is the culprit just so that he could have a real case on his hands.
  • Deliberately Monochrome: The opening sequence set in Owl’s story is sepia toned.
  • Didn't Think This Through: In an effort to make himself look like a real "Private Ear", Tigger tries to steal one of Pooh's honey pots intending to "solve" the mystery of what happened to it, but trips over a log, causing him to fall out of Pooh's house and smash the honey pot into pieces. He instead decides to steal one of Rabbit's honey pots to substitute for Pooh's. Apparently, Tigger didn't consider the possibility of what would happen if Rabbit noticed one of his honey pots was missing.
  • Hallucinations: When Tigger starts to grow guilty, he hallucinates everyone around him as living honey pots.
