Recap / The New Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh S 1 E21a The New Eeyore

Go To

After feeling left out while Pooh has a party, Eeyore gets lessons from Tigger on how to be popular. But things gets out of hand when Eeyore starts acting exactly like Tigger, leading to confusion and chaos.

This episode contains examples of:

  • All for Nothing: Subverted. At the end of the episode, Eeyore decides that learning to be popular wasn't a total waste:
Eeyore: At least I learned to say "Hello".
Piglet: (giving Eeyore a hug) Hello, Eeyore.
    Eeyore: (smiling) Hello.
  • Be Yourself: The lesson Eeyore learns at the end. Tigger tries to impart this message early in the episode, but Eeyore takes it the wrong way.
  • Irritation Is the Sincerest Form of Flattery: Eeyore wants to be as popular and well-liked as Tigger, so Tigger gives him advice on how to make himself more approachable. Unfortunately, Eeyore misunderstands the advice and starts acting exactly like Tigger, complete with stripes, catchphrases and bouncing on people.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Tigger can only gasp and say "I've created a donkey monster!" when he realises Eeyore has started acting like him thanks to not quite getting the popularity lessons.
  • Oh, Crap!: Rabbit, when realizing it was Eeyore that bounced him and not Tigger:
Rabbit: (terrified) Oh, no! Oh, my! Not TWO OF THEM?!
  • We Want Our Jerk Back!: Downplayed. Eeyore isn't being a jerk at all and is only acting like Tigger because he thinks it'll make him popular. But the other animals are so disturbed by it that they determine to try and "untiggerise" him and get him back to his old self.
