Tropes
- Call-Back: A few episodes ago, Alicia learned from Will's ex that he stole 45000. This episode, Peter learns that Will "borrowed" 45000 from a client's account several years ago.
- Catch-22 Dilemma:
- As Diane points out, the plaintiff can't be revealing State secrets if the thing he's complaining about never happened.
- How do you maintain attorney/client privilege while complying with EO 13224? As Elbeth says: if you reveal what you know about your client, he'll go to prison; if you refuse, you will go to prison.
- Meaningful Name: Exploited. Caitlin figures out that the person in the transcripts was named Curt by the fact that the redacting program redacted the adjective curt.
- Sleeping with the Boss: An insurance company wonders if Lockhart/Gardner wants to insure for sexual harassment suits. Will still doesn't admit to sleeping with Alicia.
- Symbol Swearing: Since most of the case is redacted, and so blacked out or beeped over, the lawyers take the opportunity to drop som F-bombs.
- Title Drop: It is explained that Executive Order 13224 voids attorney/client confidentiality if the client may be a terrorist.
