"Operation Koala Extract is a go."

"If I had any chance of putting my family back together, I had to make sure Zoë didn't do something she couldn't take back."
Brett

Hoping to exonerate himself, Aniq enlists Yasper to help him eavesdrop on Danner's questioning of Brett, which is filmed like an action movie.

Brett arrives at the reunion hoping to stop Zoë from connecting with other men. He confronts Xavier in the restroom and threatens him, but Xavier responds with a promise to flirt with Zoë in revenge for Brett's bullying in high school. He also encounters Chelsea, who has something in store for Xavier. An irritated Zoë asks Brett not to come to the afterparty, but he decides to go after realizing that Aniq has Maggie's favorite koala stuffed animal. He chases Yasper's car to no avail.

They arrive at the afterparty, where Brett punches a security guard and enters the house. He finds Zoë and Xavier in the latter's bedroom and the ensuing confrontation causes Zoë to leave. A humbled Brett apologizes to Zoë and promises to sign the divorce papers before realizing Maggie has vanished. In the following search he notices Chelsea go upstairs with Xavier.

In the present, Aniq notices a unique handwriting quirk in the threatening note, and realizes that whoever wrote it also scribbled on his face. He resolves to get handwriting samples from the group.

Tropes:

  • Casual Danger Dialogue: In an attempt to assuage his six-year-old daughter, Brett pretends that the brawl he's getting into with the security guard is just them catching up, and asks him small talk while he's getting beaten up.
  • Frying Pan of Doom: Brett knocks out an opponent with a frying pan.
Brett: You got skill, but you ain't a skillet.
  • Hollywood Hacking: Parodied. Brett's action movie-styled testimony portrays him logging into Facebook and replacing the pictures in the reunion party's slideshow with ones of him and Zoe as being a high-intensity feat in this vein. He even uses the phrase "hacking into the mainframe" when doing so.
  • Lens Flare: Lens flare is used for the lights in Brett's retelling as befits an action movie.
  • Mundane Made Awesome: Brett's testimony portrays him acting like a meddling creep toward his estranged wife with the slick stylishness of an action movie.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Danner calls out Brett for having a high-speed car chase while his 6 year old daughter was in the backseat, and doesn't seem impressed when he goes into detail about how protective her carseat is.
