Chapter 15: Mafuyu POV

Mafuyu is scared out of his mind at the situation as he watches the other groups disperse, remaining with Saiki, Izuku, Seinuma, Nagisa, Spike, Mob, Saitama. At Izuku's suggestion, the latter four take the right staircase, leaving Mafuyu's group on the left. As they start separating, the mansion shakes, and Saitama identifies the source as one of the others trying to kick down a door. Though bewildered, Spike urges them to focus on the matter at hand.

Atop the stairs is a hallway with four doors. Spike opens one to find a library as tall as a gym, and a euphoric Serinuma heads straight for the manga section. She and Izuku bond over series they like before Spike wonders aloud what their kidnapper is thinking. They discuss possible motivations and possible prices for what they've been given, with Spike breaching the possibility of a spy among them. Mafuyu hesitantly says there may be no spy, and Izuku supports him. Spike accepts he may have gone too far and praises Izuku's reasoning skills.

Finding no clues in the library, they move to the next room, a control room attached to a massive recording studio with more instruments than they can identify and five booths with microphones and headphones. None of those present play music, however, though Mafuyu reluctantly turns away from the idea of learning guitar from someone there instead of Uenoyama. The music studio is also devoid of clues.

They move to the next room, a dance studio well-stocked with clothes, shoes, and other garments. The door on the opposite side leads to a well-stocked gym. Still no clues to be found.

The final room is a normal-looking study room. Mafuyu looks at a metal cart with a printer atop it and finds forty laptops inside, the 35th bearing his name. At its direction, he uses a thumbprint to unlock the computer, but the only programs are a camera and search engine (XL), the latter of which yields only mundane results. Izuku tries looking into it but finds nothing more, and Spike has no advice.

Disappointed and hoping that the others have had better luck, they put the laptop away and return to the entrance hall, where Izuku suggests they wait to compare notes with everyone, which a now-calmer Mafuyu agrees with. The first group comes running in, several looking panicked, and Rin holds out a calendar for them to see.
