Donatello manages to make many improvements to the Turtle van, only to find it stolen by a criminal family of hillbillies.
Tropes:
- An Aesop: As Splinter notes, Donatello has learned a twofer: It's okay to have pride, but there's such a thing as excess. Also, there's nothing shameful about admitting your mistakes.
- "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot: Due to not telling the others about how he let a bunch of hillbillies steal the Turtle Van, Donatello inadvertently enabled the Badds to steal the Powersizer which nearly lead to the city being destroyed. As Donatello notes to Splinter at the end, trying to save face almost cost them the city.
- It's a Long Story: Said by Donatello when Raphael asks him how he lost the Turtle Van. Michaelangelo repeats the sentiment to April when she asks the Turtles what she missed.
- The Family That Slays Together: The Badd Family are a family unit (a mom and two sons) that perform a string of robberies, often taking pictures with their victims for their family album.
