The Shredder sees potential in using Usagi Yojimbo, the Rabbit Ronin from another world, as a pawn in his plot to destroy the turtles once and for all.
Tropes:
- Call-Back: The episode opens with the ending of "Usagi Yojimbo", it being a recording Shredder shows Krang.
- Good Versus Good: After losing their sword-fight, Usagi becomes honor-bound to fight the turtles.
- Honor Before Reason: The Shredder takes Obento prisoner and orders Usagi to destroy the turtles in exchange for him. When he refuses on the grounds that sacrificing four lives to save one would be too steep a price, Shredder challenges him to a duel to make it more honorable for him, freeing Obento should he lose. After the Shredder wins (with Bebop and Rocksteady secretly cheating), Usagi becomes honor-bound to fulfill his end of the bargain. He refuses to stop until Donatello reveals Shredder's cheating.
- Mistaken for Undead: Bebop and Rocksteady think that the turtles are ghosts when they show up after Usagi claimed to have killed them.
- The Wrong Way on the Escalator: Usagi while confused and running away from the Turtles, tries to run upwards on a downward escalator. He becomes frustrated when he doesn't move anywhere, and slashes the escalator down the middle as he thinks the "stairs" are possessed by evil magic.
