Recap / Teen Titans Go S 3 E 25 Pyramid Scheme

Go To

  • Broken Aesop: The moral should have been about avoiding get rich quick schemes that promise you wealth fast, except that they 'did' get rich quick, and the problem with the mummy only happened because they spent or ate it all rather than paying what they owed.
  • Always a Bigger Fish: The Mummy Sheriff is this to the Pyramid Scheme.
  • Egg-Laying Male: Beast Boy does the other kind of hard labor in the form of a chicken to lay an egg that hatches a chick... and has bolt cutters.
  • Guilt by Association Gag: Robin didn't buy into the pyramid scheme, yet he's enslaved by the mummies just like them.
  • Money Song: Beast Boy does one about how much money he's making off that pyramid mummy money.
  • Ponzi Scheme: The episode had Robin detail what a pyramid scheme is before getting recruited into Beast Boy's company.
  • Real After All: When Robin tries to explain pyramid schemes, Beast Boy thinks they involve actual Egyptian pyramids and mummies. To Robin's surprise (and no one else's), Beast Boy turns out to be right.
  • Recycled Script: Partially. Beast Boy acts like it's the second episode and bemoans his lack of funds to get Cyborg anything for his brithday, ignoring the fact he's saying this in front of his best friend. Who informs him that his birthday is months away, he'd be happy with a card, and that Beast Boy saying he'd only like gifts if they were expensive makes him sound like a terrible person.
  • Showdown at High Noon: Beast Boy and the Mummy Sheriff are about to have one of these... only for the Gold Bear to just run the Mummy Sheriff over.
