Go To

Static and Gear find themselves as reality show stars, facing another electric villain.

  • Accidental Misnaming:: Bernie constantly refers to Brandon as “Bradley”.
  • Bad Boss: Bernie Rast can’t remember his assistant’s name and refuses to read his screenplay in a backhanded manner.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The earpiece that Virgil has to wear is what gives Starburst his electric powers, by acting as a siphon.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: Brandon the assistant seems like he’s only there to give Rast an Establishing Character Moment. But then he turns out to be Starburst.
  • Genre Blind: Gear points out that Puff and Onyx should’ve taken the silent alarm into consideration before committing their robbery.
  • The Ghost: Though he doesn’t appear here, Bernie considers having Rubberband Man take over as the star of “Heroes” after Static loses twice to Starburst.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: Rast points out two kids on the streets with nothing to do as an example of the type of audience he hopes to reach. It then cuts to the two kids to show that Rast payed both of them to act bored.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: For syndicated episodes. As Virgil and Gear have been knocked back, Rast notes that if they weren’t going out live, that moment would be a good time for a commercial break right before the show cuts to one.
  • Villain Has a Point: When it's revealed that the villain of the week is Brandon, he makes it a point to say anyone in his position would also become a villain focused on sabotaging Rast's show, especially when his employer is a Bad Boss.
