As term finals are looming for Anya, the Forgers receive new neighbors in the form of the elderly Authens.

- Comically Missing the Point: Anya's attempt to become a "super-genius" like Demetrius is to adopt his Thousand-Yard Stare and repeat "I don't understand".
- Dumbass No More: Zigzagged. Thanks to Sigmund's tutoring, Anya surprises everyone by getting the second-best score on the Classical Language term finals, earning her third Stella. Her class ranking has also gone up from 213th (out of 228th) to 168th... Unfortunately, she ran out of steam and failed her Math finals, earning her third Tonitrus too.
- Gentle Touch vs. Firm Hand: Sigmund, a retired professor, uses Bondman as a study tool to help Anya prepare for the Classical Language exam. His teaching does what Loid has been trying (and failing) for months, and helps Anya finally win a Stella on academic merit.
- Scatterbrained Senior: Sigmund's become rather forgetful in his old age, and his thoughts are often too scattered for Anya to read his mind effectively.
- Unseen No More: Damian's older brother Demetrius appears at long last.
