Thirteen days after Tara's murder, Jax is released from police custody. Gemma sets in motion her plan to deflect the blame from herself, which sets Jax on a bloody path of revenge that begins to unravel all his work of bringing peace to SAMCRO.

- And Then What??: To Gemma's extreme frustration, Juice obviously has no plans about what to do now that the club wants him dead. He spends his days in Wendy's apartment either watching TV, rearranging furniture or exercising.
- Believing Their Own Lies: Gemma genuinely believes that she's the only person holding the Teller family together.
- Cold-Blooded Torture: When Gemma frames a member of Lin's crew for her murder of Tara, Jax proceeds to torture him to death.
- R-Rated Opening:The montage at the start of the episode is pretty graphic to signal that this season will be the darkest one yet. Jax gives a very vicious No-Holds-Barred Beatdown to a prisoner before ripping out his teeth.
- Manipulative Bastard: Gemma. She not only convinces Jax that Lin had Tara killed to deflect blame on herself, but she's also manipulating Juice to remain loyal to her by feigning affection towards him.
- Modesty Towel: When Wendy returns to her appartment, she arrives at the exact time that Juice is walking out of the shower still fastening the towel around his hips.
