The adventure continues... just not the one you knew.
With the help of another true blue hero, Sonic manages to foil their enemies once again. With the power of Chaos Control, planet Mobius has returned to normal... or so he believes.As he helps Tails take down another one of Eggman's robots, he finds that so much has changed thanks to the Doctor's last-minute attack.
Tropes:
- Achilles' Heel: The Tails Doll Sonic and Tails fight has a red gem hanging on its head. If that gem is severed, then the Doll and its functions cease entirely. Tails claims this isn't the first they fought it.
- Aborted Arc: With this taking place in an entirely new universe or timeline, everything that occurred before Worlds Collide is completely scrapped, including the Mecha Sally storyline.
- Bittersweet Ending: Sonic learns that the feedback from his Chaos Control and Eggman's interference has made a lot of changes in his world as it returns to normal, though it seems to have made just as many improvements. After rescuing King Acorn, he and Tails head out to find the rest of the Freedom Fighters and get to the bottom of what has happened. With Nicole glitching out after [Walter] Naugus attacked her, Tails hopes to restore her by performing the same memory surge to the others as it did him.
- Cosmic Retcon: Sonic and Eggman find themselves back in their universe. Many familiar people and places have undergone a cosmic makeover, while others are gone forever. The following arc explores this revamped planet formerly known as Mobius.
- Continuity Nod: Glimpses of the old universe appear in Sonic's memories as he appears in the new one. Naugus and later Tails receive a memory surge themselves when they touch a glitchy Nicole.
- Continuity Reboot: One of the most infamous examples due to behind-the-scenes lawsuits. The story takes place right after the Worlds Collide event, and continues from there, leaving behind multiple plot points. Sonic still remembers trying to subdue and take back Mecha Sally in the old universe, but eventually finds out she's back to normal as the story of this new reality unfolds.
- Screw This, I'm Out of Here!: When Naugus attacks Nicole, a surge of energy hits him with memories of his old life. Disoriented, he bails his attempt to hold Mobotropolis and restore his magic and leaves.
- Stumbled Into the Plot: Literally, having take place immediately after Worlds Collide. Sonic finds himself in Mobotropolis where a mutated Tails Dolls is attacking. He expected to be back in the Death Egg where he and his friends finally subdued Mecha Sally and prepare to take her home before Eggman activated another Genesis Wave. However, Tails claims that they both just arrived in Mobotropolis to help King Acorn and stop Tails Doll. Tails is confused why Sonic is acting like he was somewhere else until he experiences a surge of memories from his old life after picking up a glitchy Nicole, finally making sense of what Sonic is on about.
- Wham Shot: The issue ends with Princess Sally sneaking around the Death Egg, unroboticized and in a new look.
