Desperate to get upgrades to impress girls with, Blastus and Thrasher swallow their pride and get a — ugh — job. When that doesn't work out, they end up selling their coolant for quick cash.

- Always Save the Girl: Thrasher and Blastus at first manage to rescue Maimy from the rampaging gorgon, but, when they kill it, its corpse falls on her anyway.
- Fed to the Beast: The main form of entertainment at the Maul is the gorgon, an alien monster that's fed a steady stream of live robots. The victims seem to consider this to be something like a fair park ride, and after being devoured crawl back out the other end.
- Go into the Light: Parodied. When clearing out the gorgon's gastric tract, Blastus and Thrasher tiredly tell the half-eaten robots to head towards the light at the other end.
- Our Gorgons Are Different: The gorgon is a huge alien monster kept as the main source of entertainment at "the Maul", where robots go to watch other robots being fed to it. It has a sluglike body, five arms, and a second set of eyes on its lower jaw, and farts corrosive gas.
- Overdrawn at the Blood Bank: Instead of "blood", it's "coolant" (since Blastus and Thrasher are robots), and donating too much causes such bizarre side effects as jitters, paranoia, fire blisters, and rectal whistling.
- Prospector: One of the robots encountered inside the gorgon's bowels is a robotic prospector, completed with a metal beard, who's obsessed with sifting through its digestive juices in search of "rectal gold".
- Rescue Romance: Thrasher saves Maimy and they have a small moment until the giant monster falls on top of her.
