Mordecai and Rigby are charged with bringing tortillas to make quesadillas, unfortunately they get lost in the woods and must remember Benson's survival lessons to make it out of there.

Tropes

  • Bowdlerization: In the UK version, Rigby's line, "This is it. See you on the other side." was clumsily censored to "This is it. 50 years from now I'm probably gonna die from natural causes," which does not make any sense, given that the scene shows that both Mordecai and Rigby are immediately about to die.
  • Chekhov's Classroom: Mordecai and Rigby have to use Benson's survival lessons from earlier in the day to make it out of the wilderness.
  • Foreshadowing: While tripping balls, Mordecai has a vision of Margaret and CJ fighting each other. In "Merry Christmas, Mordecai," Margaret is the one who comes back unintentionally throwing a wrench into Mordecai and CJ's budding relationship (and things get worse when CJ suspects Margaret trying to steal Mordecai away from her in "Sad Sax", "1000th Chopper Flight Party", "Not Great Double Date", and "Dumped at the Altar").
  • George Jetson Job Security: Benson threatens to fire the duo if they come back with the wrong brand of tortillas.
  • No Antagonist: There's no villain who opposes Mordecai and Rigby this episode, nor do they even have any real conflict with each other or one of their co-workers. The main obstacle is simply the two of them trying to survive in the wilderness.
  • Robinsonade: Mordecai and Rigby get lost in the wilderness and have to survive.
  • Sanity Slippage: After getting lost, the duo are convinced that they have been separated from civilization for an extended period of time when it's only been a few hours, and it turns out they were right outside the campsite the entire time. Then when Benson sent Thomas to check on them, they apparently mistaken him for a wild animal and attacked him.
  • The Tape Knew You Would Say That: Benson knows how inattentive they are.
Mordecai: It's a note from Benson. "Dear Mordecai and Rigby, you're probably standing there like two boneheads trying to figure out which of the thirty different kinds of tortillas to get."
    Rigby: How does he know?
  • Time-Passage Beard: Mordecai and Rigby grow these while stranded in the woods. Strangely, they were only lost for a few hours.
