Recap pages are Spoilers Off by default, so in all these pages all spoilers are unmarked. Proceed with caution. You Have Been Warned
Kane and whoever survived the previous chapter have reached the Interior Hangar itself and ascend on a service lift. The group beholds the aircraft in storage and departing from the tower. It's little wonder Strogg fliers are such a nuisance to the invasion force.
Sgt. Morris announces over radio that Cpl. Rhodes is inbound for demolitions, and Kane and his allies make haste to secure the area for his arrival. After clearing a room of Guards and ceiling Turrets, Rhodes arrives on the scene, and Kane escorts him to the two launching bays to plant explosives.
Kane and Rhodes battle through Strogg security teams to reach their targets. Once the charges are planted, Kane and Rhodes retreat to a safe overlook where Rhodes gleefully starts the "fireworks". With the Interior Hangar neutralized, Kane finds a nearby elevator back to the Hangar Perimeter, and the chapter ends.
The only new asset introduced in this chapter is the Turret. However, the Strogg Flyer does get featured in later chapters.
This Chapter contains examples of:
- Artistic License – Explosives: Rhodes warns about their explosives not reacting well to weapons fire. If he isn't joking, then this is a huge safety hazard on the battlefield. Still, Rhodes can take a surprising amount of hits without consequences.
- Climactic Elevator Ride: Serves as a way to showcase the hangar before the fighting truly begins on the top floor.
- Escort Mission: You're escorting the competent Rhodes, so it's hardly troublesome.
- Leeroy Jenkins: Rhodes charges ahead aggressively guns blazing. Fortunately, he's very durable and can pull his weight.
- Sentry Gun: Turrets make their debut in this chapter.
- Stuff Blowing Up: Rhodes loves this part of his job. The both of you get a view of a launch bay exploding.
