Revealed to be alive all this time, Alex forces himself back on the team and relieves Wes of his duties.

- Accidental Misnaming: Jen accidentally calls Alex, Wes.
- Drill Sergeant Nasty: Alex acts this way when he retakes position as Red Ranger. He berates the others for seemingly wasting time, bosses them around, and calls them all pathetic for their failure in battles. By the end of the episode, the others all slowly start to hate him for it, and not even Jen can defend his actions.
- Expy: Just as the Q-Rex is similar to the Tyrannosaurus Zord, Dragontron strongly resembles Dragonzord, even first appearing by rising up out of the water and then fighting the Megazord.
- Pet the Dog: Eric is the one to call Wes and tell him what happened to his father.
