Grovyle just had to waste a PP on his newly-learned Leaf Blade attack to fulfill his Oral Fixation.
In an unusual situation, Ash's Treecko and another trainer's Loudred evolve at the same time during battle, respectively becoming Grovyle and Exploud. Things get strange when Exploud starts disobeying its trainer. Can its trainer, Guy, and Ash figure out what's wrong before Team Rocket closes in?
This episode contains examples of the following tropes:
- Description Cut: Ash brags about his team being in top form, but when Max looks at them, they're anything but.
- Freak Out: Unlike Grovyle, Exploud goes crazy and stops obeying Guy immediately after its evolution.
- Mundane Utility: The first thing Grovyle does with his newly-learned Leaf Blade is to cut off a new twig from a nearby tree.
- Talking Is a Free Action: Averted for once; Ash has Pikachu send Team Rocket blasting off with Thunder while they're in the middle of reciting their motto.
- Took a Level in Badass: This is the episode where Treecko evolves into Grovyle. However...the Loudred he was battling also evolves at the same time into Exploud.
