On their way to Ecruteak City, Sakura contacts Misty and reveals that her Eevee has evolved into an Espeon. The girls have a Pokémon battle while Team Rocket tricks the other Eevee sisters into giving them their Eevee-lutions.

- Fatal Flaw: As Meowth pointed out, Team Rocket had successfuly stolen four Eeveelutions and could have hightailed it afterwards. It is only due to Jessie's Greed that they stuck around to capture Espeon, which ended the usual way.
- Not-So-Harmless Villain: Another instance of Team Rocket being competent pokemon thieves but subverted by the end of the episode.
- Took a Level in Badass: Sakura has taken several since the last time she was seen. For one her Eevee has evolved into Espeon and Sakura herself has become a much more confident and headstrong trainer with her dealing most of the damage against Team Rocket. She was even the one to come up with the plan to draw them out.
