The first semi-final match between Rainbow Dash and Lightning Blitz continues. Can Rainbow make a come from behind victory, or is she doomed to suffer a humiliating defeat?
- All According to Plan: Lightning let Roglacier get beaten by Wondor, just so Wondor would be weakened and could easily be beaten by his next Pokémon.
- Big "WHAT?!": Lightning screams one when Gorillamp is defeated by Tank, the one part of the battle that didn't go according to plan.
- Bittersweet Ending: Though Rainbow Dash loses to Lightning Blitz, thus having him advance to the finals and her fail her goal of becoming champion, she happily accepts Spitfire's offer to become her apprentice and become the Cloudsdale Gym Leader someday.
- Curb Stomp Cushion: Rainbow ultimately manages to turn the battle into this. Though she still loses by a large margin, she manages to defeat two of Lightning's Pokémon, including Tank defeating Gorillamp.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Fluttershy loudly calls out to Rainbow from the audience, not embarrassed at all from suddenly being the center of attention, and tells Rainbow not to give up against Lightning.
- So Proud of You: Cloud Clipper and Spitfire tell Rainbow she brought pride to all Flying-type Trainers with her performance.
