Book 1

    House - Chapter 1
I was tasked to investigate reports of a missing child named 'Georgie'. As I arrived at the Piggy's household for any leads, I began to notice things were off. It was unusually quiet and quaint. A breeze of unease shrouded me as I stepped out of my vehicle. Without a moment to react, I blacked out and woke up in the bedroom of the house with a beaming headache. Someone had knocked me out and brought me here. But why? If they wanted to get rid of me, why didn't they finish the job? While attempting to piece things together. I encountered a strange, crazed pig with different eyes and a hunger for harm. It didn't talk, it just chased me. Terrifying. As soon as I escaped the House, I decided to get back to the station and get help. What we have here seems to be much more than a missing animal case.

    Station - Chapter 2
When I reached the station, I found it to be unusually quiet. No officers celebrating, no criminals rattling their cell doors....nothing. Then, the intercom system spurted out a warning to get to the garage. The voice sounded familiar. It was Doggy, my old partner. I don't know why he showed up on his day off. Maybe it was a distress call that all officers received while I was unconscious in the Piggy house. As I crept about to unlock the garage, I encountered yet another strange-looking pig. It appeared to have black eyes and a violent attitude, just like the last one. What is it with these animals? What happened to them and what made them look like this? Once I opened the garage, fueled the escape car and left with Doggy, I felt a sense of dread overwhelm me. I got out but I did not feel safe. I needed to find out what was going on.

    Gallery - Chapter 3
It turns out the gas can I picked up was almost empty, because we found ourselves running out pretty quickly. To make matters worse, we stopped in the middle of the city. A couple of the "infected" (as Doggy calls them) surrounded our car. We rushed into the nearby building, the Gallery. I haven't been here since we started investigating a reported robbery last month. It seemed to be a little run-down, as well. We quickly sealed the building, only to soon realize that the infected entered as well. It was very strange to see a place, once so calm, become so chaotic. Doggy told me he didn't like galleries anyways.

    Forest - Chapter 4
Doggy and I had been safe and sound in this forest for weeks now. We’ve been silently visiting small towns and taking supplies from them. We spoke for days about what we’ll do when it’s over. Doggy said he’d like to travel south someday and visit old monuments and ruins. I don’t know what I’d do. I couldn’t get my mind off of the world’s state. One night, I woke up to discover a broken and empty potion, and a missing friend. I looked around and found Doggy. He was one of them. My gut sank, and I felt weak. Where did this potion come from, and why did he drink it? Was he forced to? He had red eyes, not like the others. Some day, I will get to the bottom of this. As I left the forest to no longer be faced with such a harsh blow to my heart, I came across a radio with a voice that instructed me to head to the school. Clinging onto anything that would distract my mind, I followed their instructions.

    School - Chapter 5
Still recovering from the loss of Doggy, I felt out of touch with reality, like I was a blur just floating through time. However, I pressed on. The radio I found in the forest instructed me to help them out and find their friend trapped in a school. Maybe if I couldn’t save my friend, I could help them save theirs. That’s when I met Bunny. A sharpshooter bunny with an eye patch. She had barricaded herself in the school’s surveillance room after a failed supply run. She was very kind, not to mention thankful. Her enthusiasm inspired me to be strong and get a hold of myself. As we headed to the sewers to meet up with the mysterious radio voice, my head started burning up. I did not feel too well at all. I ignored it and continued moving forward. We met with Mr. P, a very rich celebrity. It was certainly strange to find someone of his status walking about in the sewers. He thanked me for my help, but the more he spoke, the harder I found it to pay attention. My head hurt more and more until I passed out there. The last thing I remember was being wheeled in a hospital and seeing Doggy.

    Hospital - Chapter 6
I woke up in a hospital with Bunny on my side. She seemed to lighten up when she saw my eyes open. Bunny explained that Mr. P and the researchers didn’t think I’d make it, as I showed minimal symptoms of the infection. She didn’t give up on me, though. I rescued her, so she believed it was her duty to protect me from being tossed out and deemed as a lost cause. Bunny also told me that I woke up in the perfect time, as the place is being evacuated. A doctor was infected and caused severe panic. I jumped out of bed and got to the rooftop, where a helicopter was supposedly waiting for us. It wasn’t there. They left without us, to who-knows-where. Bunny and I needed to come up with a way to get out of the hospital ourselves, and fast.

    Metro - Chapter 7
We made our way through the hospital and down to the underground metro. Bunny and I spoke about Mr. P. I told her my disbelief in him. I could not understand why he would not wait a moment longer for us. She explained that lately, he has become more and more delusional and obsessed with his search for a cure. Upon finally reaching the metro, I started to work on repairs for the tram. Bunny sat down, not feeling too well. She told me she needed to rest a little before going on, and lent me her crossbow. When the repairs were ready, she told me that she was infected. I was very reluctant to believe her. She explained that she was one of the test subjects of Mr. P’s cure tests at the hospital. Hers did not go so well. I told her that we could find a cure and she could hold on long enough to find it. Bunny didn’t want to go on as she feared putting me in danger. I got on the train, looking back at her as she stayed behind to fight off the infected that may still be there. My heart hurt, and my fist clenched. I was going to find Mr. P.

    Carnival - Chapter 8
I arrived at Mr. P’s carnival to search for any leads on where he may be. Unfortunately, there was not much to be found besides an infected fox, trapped in a cage. I shiver at the thoughts of how he could possibly ended up like that. I met two survivors there, Zizzy and Pony. Zizzy was a cunning skilled fencer, Pony was clumsy yet a comforting ally. They were kind enough to allow me to join them. They told me they were on a supply run, but found me on the way and trusted me enough. As I was led back to their safe house, they spoke a lot about untrustworthy people, and how I should watch out for them. It seemed that this whole situation really brought out the worst in some.

    City - Chapter 9
We arrived at the city, a run-down mess. They set their safe house in a hotel, as it had plenty of beds and supplies. Recently, they’ve been running low. It was there I learnt a few things about my two new allies. Zizzy taught her younger sisters, Zee and Zuzy, how to fight. Pony studied optometry like his father. I told them my story, and how I was searching for Mr. P. Saying his name struck something in me, a negative emotion that burned inside my gut. As we spoke, we discovered a mysterious figure watching us. It didn’t seem to be an infected, as it ran away where we noticed it. Zizzy and I ran after it.

    Mall - Chapter 10
We chased the figure to the mall, only to discover that it was Georgie, the missing kid. He had deep fear in his eyes when we found him in his little fort, coupled with an awful stench. I asked him why he went missing. He told me about his family. They visited the hospital without him and came back acting strange. So, he ran off to find his grandmother in the city in hopes that she could help him out. Unfortunately for him, the city seemed to all act the same way his family did by the time he got here. So, he hid himself. This poor cruel world took his family away from him. I could not imagine what that must feel like at his age. So, we brought him back to the safe house with us. It was there I met the Safe Place crew. Zizzy’s sisters, Mimi, and Giraffy. Mimi was a smart engineer. She knew her way around technology quite well. Giraffy was a tough guy with a strong passion for nature and ecology. He loved plants. The meeting was short-lived however, as Mimi managed to find a working helicopter signal at the nearby Military Outpost. Pony informed us of the news. We left Georgie in the care of the others as Pony, Zizzy, and I journeyed to the outpost.

    Outpost - Chapter 11
The outpost was swarming with infected soldiers. The three of us opened the sealed doors of the plant, where Mr. P presumably flew to. As I prepared to enter, Georgie showed up. He snuck out of the safe place and followed us. I was not pleased to see him at all, because he could have been easily harmed. It was a relief to see him unscathed, though. I can’t say I was surprised after finding out how well he managed on his own. He wanted to see Mr. P, the one responsible for making the family act the way they did. I reluctantly agreed to bring him along as long as he remained close and out of any more trouble. Georgie and I entered the plant, leaving Zizzy and Pony to fend off against the soldiers and protect us from being swarmed. It was there that we found Mr. P, speaking strangely. He seemed to hold a deep regret for his actions, and could not seem to cope with them. When he realized we were there, he believed we were nothing but ghosts who had come to haunt him. Mr. P was unable to come to terms with reality, he ran off. We followed him for a final confrontation.

    Plant - Chapter 12

True Ending

Mr. P's delusional thoughts grew wilder as he began to attack us in an attempt to get us to leave him alone. We persisted in trying to get his attention but it was not long before I, too, began to suffer from unwanted thoughts. I cycled through my own memories, being attacked by the past. I was searching for something - anything - to get me back into the real world. That was until I found a photo of Mr. P’s wife. I showed it to him, and that was when it all came back to him. He finally came to terms with his actions, seeing us, no longer as regretful memories. He told us his story. He did everything he could to save his wife who was suffering from a sickness, and caused the world to burn in the process. Nothing hurt him more in this world than himself, and he was afraid of his actions. He became more and more desperate for solutions, sacrificing those closest to him in the process. Georgie was upset and wanted revenge, but I convinced him not to do anything to him. If he harmed Mr. P, he would not be any better than Mr. P. He was too blinded by his emotions to realize what he was doing, and if Georgie went through with it, he too would have suffered just like him. We soon left the plant, leaving behind Mr. P. Zizzy and Pony greeted us with great joy. With the search for Mr. P finally over, we were unsure of what to do. We all stopped to take a moment to think. Then, Georgie's face lit up as he came up with an idea. That if we looked for a cure? Maybe it wasn’t such a ridiculous idea. We live in a world full of all sorts of people, so perhaps it wouldn't be too far-fetched to come across someone working on something that could help us out. There’s only one way to find out.

Book 2

    Alleys - Chapter 1
All I could think about was the arrest before the whole infection happened. Doggy and I had located two of the three wanted criminals in Lucella. As it turns out, they have been lurking in the alleys, a dark and filthy place. It suited their lifestyle, after all. After frantically searching for one criminal whilst being hunted by another, we finally reached her, Willow. She’s been wanted for many years now. It seems that her criminal behavior was in her blood, as her parents enjoyed stealing apparently just as much as her. When we searched her room, Doggy made a few discoveries. He found a hatch with a small crawl space. This must’ve been where she (and presumably any other criminals) hid to avoid being found. What confuses me even more is that there were three beds, but she was the only one living there. They haven’t been touched in a long time, shown by the dust. Just as I finished this case, another one opened. Who did these beds belong to?

    Store - Chapter 2
Back to the present times, at the Safe Place. Mimi had found and fixed up an old radio, which was fantastic news. It was missing batteries, so Zizzy, Pony, and I all left to find some at the store. It was surprising to see that the store hadn’t been looted completely when we arrived. I guess whoever tried didn’t come out of it the same way they went in. We managed to find the batteries and get out of there. Mimi was practically jumping with joy at the sight of us returning. A few minutes later, after Mimi had gotten it working, we heard a strange voice to meet us at the Old Oak just outside of the city. Pony was very reluctant to go, as his previous experience with survivor groups had given him trust issues. Everyone else, myself included, wanted to check it out. Seeing any other survivors would comfort us by making us feel less lonely. Pony was right, it was an ambush from a group he used to be in; The Silver Paw, led by Willow. She took Zizzy and left. We had to go after her.

    Refinery - Chapter 3
Pony and I followed closely behind as they took Zizzy to their base. We found it strange that she took her instead of us. Willow knew both Pony and me, but not her. Maybe it was to get information out of her. However, there was no chance she’d get anything out of Zizzy. She’s a fighter. We eventually reached a secluded oil refinery. Pony remarked that this settlement was not one he is familiar with. This group was potentially larger than what we’ve seen of them. Pony and I infiltrated the building. Narrowly escaping a tiger with desperation in his eyes. We find Zizzy in a damp room, fighting an infected former officer. It was Poley, a senior. Despite his age, he was very capable of handling many hand-to-hand situations. Unfortunately. Zizzy was caught off guard and scratched by Poley. We were distraught and lost. She told us it would be best for us to leave before we get into any more trouble. Pony didn’t want to leave her at all. It was new to see Pony so emotional. I was all too familiar with the loss of others. I’ve seen it happen so many times that by now, while hurt, I was ready for it. We said our goodbye to Zizzy as she left the cell to create a distraction for us to escape. We’ll never forget you, Zizzy.

The Safe Place - Chapter 4
Georgie worryingly woke me up to the sound of explosions. Something horrible was going on, so we evacuated the Safe Place as soon as we possibly could. All without Zee and Zuzy. Pony searched all over, but couldn’t find them anywhere. He felt personally responsible for them without Zizzy around, so he was giving himself a hard time for losing them. As we escaped the building, we were greeted by none other than Willow and The Silver Paw. They had a rocket launcher, too. If there was no better time to poop yourself, now would be the time. Willow was furious. She told us that because of our actions at the refinery, many of her people had to be relocated elsewhere. If you ask me, I believe she used Zizzy against us. Willow took her away because she knew we’d try to rescue her. Then, on our way back, she followed us, leading her to our home. It was all staged to get rid of us. Her group took us away and locked us in a makeshift cell in a factory. I can’t believe we played right into her filthy paws.

    Sewers - Chapter 5
After spending almost a whole day in this rusting cell, we were found by Zee and Zuzy. They managed to sneak into the factory’s sewer system, then break into our cell. We were relieved to know that they were okay. They were trained how to handle themselves well, so it shouldn’t have been such a shock. Still, seeing their faces gave us much morale. They needed one of us to help them get the cell key so we could get everyone out safely. The sewers were too dangerous for all of us to go in. The moment I entered the sewers, I felt a cold breeze. It wasn’t an ordinary breeze, as this one pierced right through me. This is when the whispers started. I heard voices, but couldn’t make out what they were saying. Soon enough, I began to witness these orange eyes watching me. I felt like I was going insane so I did my best to work with the zebra sisters and get the key as soon as possible. We eventually got out and searched for the security key to open up the cells. When we left the sewers, the whispers stopped, but I still felt uneasy and… followed. Something didn’t feel right. We were caught by Willow, who shot at Pony. Giraffy heroically dived to take the bullet for him. Willow had gone too far and needed to be stopped. She’s done far too much to us, and my frustration got the best of me. I told the others to leave and get Giraffy to safety as I stayed behind to finally put an end to Willow. Pony joined my side. He too was tired of her and would not let her get away with anything else.

    Factory - Chapter 6

Savior Ending

Willow almost teasingly, gave us a head-start in our duel. She fired her weapon into the air, destroying the light above us and covering the scene in darkness. The whispers started to take over again. This time, “he” and “not responsible” were all I could make out. As Pony and I made our way around the factory, we came across many of The Silver Paw’s members in danger. I still wonder how they got into those situations. I felt a cold presence when approaching them. Regardless, we saved them all while taking care of Willow. After knocking her out, Pony and I left the factory to regroup with our friends. Willow got up and followed us, not ready to admit defeat. She aimed once again at us, before noticing Zizzy’s sisters. She looked puzzled and saddened to see them. The tiger walked by with a key on his side throwing a dagger to disarm Willow. He had probably seen us help his friends in need, and was tired of Willow. She broke down and apologized for her actions. I had never seen her so beaten down before. The Silver Paw's members that we rescued thanked us for saving them. Willow told us that she knows how we can save Zizzy. The revelation caught us off-guard because we did not expect Willow to help us, let alone know how to bring someone back. Pony, as usual, expressed reluctance. Yet, she insisted. Willow is confusing, to say the least. But, what other choice did we have? If there was any hope of a cure, we had to take it. This was our chance to finally fight against this horrible infection tearing us all apart. The Silver Paw offered to take care of Giraffy as the rest of our group left on our journey.

    Port - Chapter 7
We arrived at the port, where Willow was hoping to find her group’s tugboat. Unfortunately, it seemed that the tiger had beaten us to it. The lighthouse there could potentially help us find a nearby ship, so we got to work activating it. The town really showed the terrible effects of the infection on people. Doors locked, barricades created with chairs, tables and whatever else they could find. We’re going to find a way to end this, I’m sure of it. Things will go back to normal some day. Almost as soon as we lit the lighthouse, a nearby boat approached and docked at the port. Our group boarded the ship and met Captain Budgey. She was a cautious yet entertaining sailor. We told her that we needed to get across the sea. Unfortunately, she told us we didn’t have enough fuel to make the trip to Doveport, and that the reserves were locked in the ship with her infected crew. Willow and I went to get the fuel.

    Ship - Chapter 8
Once Willow and I reached the fuel container, an infected crewmate approached us from behind. It must’ve accidentally hit the lock button on the container, because we found ourselves locked in. I kept telling Willow that it would be best for us to start getting along, as nothing good could come of us keeping our hostilities. None of us are innocent, and it’s the time for us to accept that. Shortly after, our friends found us inside the fuel container. Mimi explained that there were no infected to be found in the ship, so they came down to see what we were up to. Our reunion was quickly interrupted by the sounds of explosions. We quickly met with Captain Budgey outside, and she informed us that we arrived at Doveport. It could just be seen off in the distance, accompanied by the expanse lights. The fuel we retrieved should give the Medora a push to the docks there. I gulped and looked around, seeing the worried faces on everyone else. We had no idea what we were in for.

    Docks - Chapter 9

Savior

We landed at Doveport to discover Willow's tugboat already there. The tiger arrived before us. Pony and I searched ahead to find a way to the surface. It wasn't something we were looking forward to, to say the least (the explosions didn't sound very fun at all). Just when I thought the voices were over, they came back to haunt me. It seems they tormented Pony as well. It appeared as though he was losing his mind. The creature chasing us gave us headaches as we made our way to the facility. We eventually discovered a passageway to the surface. I went on ahead, Pony caught up later. It was there that I met Tigry, face to face. He tried to convince me that I should help him instead of Willow in finding the cure. After not giving him a proper response, he left. He's a silent type, but observant one. Our group made way to the surface to be met with (unsurprisingly) bombs. It was here that we met Robby and Kona. Robby was a mall security robot. I still feel so uneasy near it. The last time I met one of its kind, it wasn't so pleasant. However, it helped cover me from an explosion. I'll give it that. Kona is the engineer responsible for the creation of the mall robots. It seems that he wasn't fond of adding weapons to the robots, and I can't blame him. Mimi and Kona have known each other for years. It turns out they have attended the same school of Engineering. It gave us a lot of us great comfort to meet someone Mimi knew we could trust. He offered Mimi a radio so he could keep in touch with us, and sent us on our way with Robby to help us on our journey towards the cure.

    Temple - Chapter 10

Savior

Robby and I went down into the lab. Kona dug into a temple when building his lab and kept it that way. I have no idea how nobody noticed the metal doors seeping into the rock wall. He must had some way of hiding them them. It was riddled with active traps, he may be using them to fight against the infected. After getting the temple exit door opened up, our group returned to the surface, away from the explosions. it was there that something truly inexplicable occurred. the world around me went dark, and I began to hallucinate once more. I saw Bunny, Doggy and Zizzy. I knew it was a trick, I've been fooled before. Eventually, they vanished, and he appeared. I don't know what to call him. He's some sort of... extra-dimensional being? I know I sound crazy for saying that, but he's capable of much more than anything I've seen. He's the one responsible for the hallucinations, the whispers, and the voices. He also revealed to me that I'm immune to the infection. I'm not immune to pain though, so I still need to be careful around the infected. He offered to let me see my friends again if I joined him. As you can already expect, I declined. Why would I join someone who has been tormenting me for a long time now? He warned me to stop my journey and left. In the blink of an eye, I was back with the group. Pony informed me that he knows about that mysterious being. He tried to bribe Pony as well, but like me, he refused. It looks like the being doesn't want us to get to that cure... at all. Unfortunately for him, I will remain persistent and resistant.

Robby told us that they'd take care of the kids while the rest of us find that cure. It's for their safety. Pony shared with us a theory of his; he believes that there could be potentially someone- or something- pulling the strings of the infected, using them as puppets. It makes sense to me...how else would the infected know to go north to stop something that threatens their existence (A.K.A the cure)? It just seems like that's the case to me.

    Camp - Chapter 11

Savior

Cold. That's how I felt, both on the inside and out. The scorching weather outside coupled with Pony's sharp words created a perfect storm. I couldn't believe Pony would do such a thing. Everything I thought he was turned out to be wrong. At least, that's what I think. If he was told by Willow to do it, why did he go ahead and do it? Why did he give Doggy and me the potion? There's a lot to him I don't know. Georgie was right, though. If I kept my frustration for Pony's actions inside me, it would begin to burn and leave scars. It's not worth it. We need each other more than ever now. "We do things because we have to, not because we want to". His words continued to haunt me because they're real. As we made our way into the lab where the mythical cure was being developed, we ran into Tigry. He was focused on setting charges off to block our path, wanting to ensure Willow could not get to the cure before him. His gaze was fixed on her as we ran into him, and after an argument, they fought. That's when some of the charges went off. Isolated from the others, I was alone again. Alone with my thoughts... When I am most vulnerable.

The camp was overrun by none other than the infected. It seems that safety is becoming rarer and rarer as time goes on. How is the military losing this fight? They have all the gear...     Lab - Chapter 12

Willow - Savior

After all of the pain, the suffering and the loss of this journey, it came down to this. Oddly enough, it was right back to where it started for me. Alone, cut off from the others. I've come a long way from Lucella, that's for sure. Though, in the end, it didn't matter how far I ran. The past came crawling back to me. Waiting for me in the halls of this haunting laboratory was none other than Penny. Perhaps it was my mind making this up. I did not have the heart to tell Georgie the heart-wrenching news of his sister's fate... assuming that was real. If I told him what I saw, he would probably not believe me either way. I don't blame him, I didn't believe my eyes when I encountered her either. It's better for both of us if it was just a mind trick. When I got to the cure, Willow and Tigry were already there, fighting. I wish I could have done more to keep them from fighting, but they were too far gone. Tensions were too great. I ultimately helped Willow out. She got us here, after all. Without her, we wouldn't have even known a cure existed, let alone found it. When I got back to the surface, there rested Pony by a tree. I've never seen someone as broken as he was at that very moment. It turns out he was infected, and has been over since we arrived at Doveport. For him to keep something like that from the rest of us was like taking a punch to the gut. My stomach sank. I felt nothing but the deepest sorrow to lose someone who has come so far with me. I forgave him for what he did to Doggy. He made a sacrifice for the greater good and deserved at least my forgiveness for it. Suddenly, out of the snowy mist came Willow, handing the cure to Pony. Although she did not want to give it to him, she felt like she had to. There's hope for her to become a good animal. We met the rest of the group shortly after, with Giraffy alongside them once again. The TSP helped him get across the sea to meet up with us, I guess our trust was put in the right place. While we were relieved to reunite, the cure was used. Willow used a cover-up story saying it was destroyed, despite us giving it to Pony. We were back where we started. There still may be hope for another cure out there, but for now, the cycle continues.

She didn't even bother to come to see him as far as I know. We almost did it, Pony. Almost.

Tigry - Savior

Waiting for me in the halls of this haunting laboratory was none other than Penny. Perhaps it was my mind making this up. I did not have the heart to tell Georgie the heart-wrenching news of his sister's fate... assuming that was real. If I told him what I saw, he would probably not believe me either way. I don't blame him, I didn't believe my eyes when I encountered her either. It's better for both of us if it was just a mind trick. When I got to the cure, Willow and Tigry were already there, fighting. I wish I could have done more to keep them from fighting, but they were too far gone. Tensions were too great. I ultimately helped Tigry out. We were both very alike, looking to save a friend, and suffered at the paws of that wolf. He gave me the cure as a payment for helping him out. On our way out of the lab, we meet with Pony. Unfortunately, our meeting was cut short as the dynamite charges placed by Tigry started to set off. We ran to the exit, Tigry got blocked off by rubble, trapping him in the facility. He was holding the cure. Pony and I ran to the exit, but we were unfortunately stopped by some more rubble crashing down. Stuck in the facility, Pony sat down calmly and told me he was infected. At that moment, I had lost the cure, I had lost my friends, and I had lost hope. I had nowhere to go, nothing to do. That's when that mysterious man showed up once again. He had previously promised me to see my friends again. Seeing as though I had no other choice at that point, I took him up on his offer. It may not have been the right decision to make, but it was the only one.

Tigry - Survivor

I ultimately helped Tigry out. We were both very alike, looking to save a friend, and suffered at the paws of that wolf. He gave me the cure as a payment for helping him out. On my way out of the lab, I was attacked by an infected soldier. I froze on the spot, just thinking of what could happen to me. Pony quickly shot it. As if that wasn't enough, Pony revealed that he, too, was infected. We were both cold, infected, and in seemingly hopeless situations. Though, it wasn't the only secret he kept. Pony revealed a sinister secret. He was responsible for Doggy turning infected. I could not believe it. So much harmful information at once, it overwhelmed my senses. How was I meant to process this? Was I meant to feel sorry, or feel angry? He offered me the cure, so I took it and left. Even after much thought, to this day, I still do not know what I should have done. Maybe I'll never know.
