Aen'da, an awkward, time-traveling elf, rescues Lady Sylvanas Windrunner from the Limbo she goes after being killed by Genn Greymane. Aen'da does it in exchange for Sylvanas' loyalty and on the condition that she never becomes Warchief in the alternate timeline she's about to send them both back to. Aen'da's motives? To heal the damage done by Garrosh time-traveling without the bronze dragonflight's approval. She also calls Sylvanas the (Elven) Aspect of Death.

- Epigraph: Unlike the prologue, this chapter's introductory quote is not attributed to any character and it's much more straightforward in its connection to the fanfic's plot and Central Theme. It crystallizes every important character's hopes that going back in time would solve their problems. - Establishing Character Moment: Aen'da is introduced as a powerful yet awkward Kaldorei/Sin'dorei hybrid. Proof of the former is that with one shoot from her bow Delune she can access the Maw where Sylvanas, thrice sent there, is without worrying about not going back. The latter is accomplished the moment she opens her mouth and doesn't quite know how to explain to Sylvanas why she's rescuing her from there or who she is. She admits not having prepared a speech.
- First-Episode Resurrection: After her canonical assassination by Greymane, Sylvanas is given the opportunity to return to the point before she was crowned Warchief by a mysterious time traveler in exchange for her loyalty and trust.
- How We Got Here: The first four chapters are devoted to partially explaining why Altalune and Trisha have arrived at the conclusion that time travel is the only way to fix things. In this chapter, the narration goes back 150 years into the past and switches the POV to that of Sylvanas'. Through her, the key figure that eventually connects Magix with Azeroth is introduced.
- Point of Divergence: For the Warcraft universe, the primordial change is that Sylvanas never wound up an alliance with the Jailer due to Aen'da's interference. Sylvanas is given the task of not becoming Warchief, which means most of the events of Battle for Azeroth and afterward are heavily changed or don't happen at all.
- Rewatch Bonus: The epigraph specifies that it's the sands of time (a mechanism under the bronze dragonflight's purview) that will work a miracle. This excludes Trisha and Altalune's method since it employs scientific principles instead of dragon magic. In other words, it's foreshadowing for their eventual failure at saving Bloom and Stella.
