Search Man's operator Laika comes to Japan for a mission. However, his standards of intelligence puts him at odds with Lan.
- Badass Normal: Laika is able to save the day without the ability or need to cross fuse like Lan. However, he merely had to deal with a couple dozen viruses opposed to Lan who was dealing with Video Man directly.
- Big Damn Heroes: Laika destroys one of the dimensional area generators while Lan is in the middle of being attacked by Video Man.
- Insufferable Genius: Laika spends much of the episode talking about intelligence, and on paper he's right, but in practice he's really just dismissive of cross fusion because it isn't what he would do.
- Logical Weakness: Being a navi modeled after VHS tapes, Video Man doesn't react well to water when Lan hits him with an Aqua Sword.
