Defrosting Ice Queen: Caroline went from disliking and being suspicious about Isaiah to welcoming him when Charles brings him to Walnut Grove and pitting him with her friend Grace Snider.
Friend to All Children: There's a reason why the Ingalls kids adore Mr. Edwards: he absolutely dotes on them, especially Laura, with whom he made a bond the last time they met in the Pilot movie.
Never Learned to Read: Mr. Edwards develops a crush on Grace Snider, a clerk at the post office. With some help from the Ingalls, he sends letters addressed to himself from a fictional woman – but all the pages are blank.
Only Friend: During a delivery run to Mankato, Charles overhears commotion — a bar fight, as it were — coming from a tavern, and sees that a man is cornered and holding off a horde of hostile patrons. Charles, upon realizing that the man in trouble is he whom his family last encountered in Independence, Kansas (Isaiah Edwards), intervenes and diffuses the situation. Mr. Edwards moans (after he realizes he's still alive): "Charles Ingalls- My only friend."
Shipper on Deck: Caroline sees Isaiah as romantic material for the widowed postmistress Grace Snider, and makes efforts to introduce them.
