The Pixietails have begun to vanish all across the kingdom, and Lady Lovely Locks is unable to figure out why. Hairball sees a whole bunch of them flying in a line, and Lady and Duchess Ravenwaves learn the Pixietails journey across the Parched Desert to Pixietail Peak every hundred years. Since now they're helpless, Lady goes to protect them, but Ravenwaves gets there first and captures all of the ladies' Pixietails. The other Pixietails inform her what happened, and they go on a rescue mission.
Lady manages to free the Pixietails, and despite Hairball and the Comb Gnomes interfering, they almost make it home before Ravenwaves kidnaps Pixiesparkle. Ravenwaves orders them all away so she can cut Lady's hair, to which Lady agrees, but Pixiecurl, who was too far away to hear the order, snatches away her scissors. Ravenwaves tackles Lady in rage, and they both end up in the river. The Pixietails help save Lady by throwing them a log, and Lady uses it to help Ravenwaves as they reach the bank. Lady briefly falls unconscious, but Ravenwaves decides that since Lady saved her life she won't cut her hair just yet—but there's always next time.
