Olga decides to see Carlin's fortune on a crystal ball. He tells her he doesn't believe in such stuff, but Olga warns him that throughout the day, a naive old bird is going to have very bad stuff happening to it.
Carlin shrugs it off and goes on with his day, while Olga decides to spy on him to see if there'll be anything bad happening. With her hiding behind a bush, Carlin notices it and decides to trim it, but Olga takes away his scissors, so he uses a chainsaw.
Later, Olga notices Wally collecting leaves and recruits him to spy on Carlin as well. On their way, they decide to lift a tree across a small river for Carlin to walk on, but he uses a nearby plank, and later they then hang a net for Carlin to fall on when he's sitting on a hillside, but he accidentally drops a bottle of milk and it hits Olga in the eye. As the sun sets, not a single bad thing has happened to Carlin, while Olga got multiple injuries and got sick. Wally then suggests that the naive old bird from the prophecy might be her, but she brushes it off, while both continue to have bad luck even after sunset.
