The team treat Dr. Cate Milton (Mira Sorvino), a psychologist stationed in Antarctica through videoconferencing.
Meanwhile, Dr. House throws a temper tantrum because he can't watch cable TV in empty patient rooms. Hadley, Kutner and Taub confront Dr. Cameron, because she's on the budget committee and could decide to reverse the decision to charge patients for cable TV. But rather than give in, Cameron resigns from the budget committee. House decides to step up his harassment of Cameron, inviting people to call her about puppies at inconvenient hours.
House is shocked to find that Dr. Wilson is now dating Dr. Volakis, whom House still calls "cutthroat bitch." "I call her Amber," Wilson replies.

- Failed a Spot Check: When he conducts a physical through, House gets to see every part of Cate's body except for her feet. She keeps her socks on because it is too cold indoors to be barefoot. Had he insisted, he would have seen she had a broken toe.
- Idiot Ball: House has it in this episode. Talking it over with Wilson, House says it proves that caring about patients is bad because it caused him to miss the obvious.
