Escaped convict Roy Parish, played by Michael Madsen, wants Five-0 to prove his innocence and abducts Danny and McGarrett; Danny's daughter Grace punches a person at school.- Acquitted Too Late: After Roy Parish is killed by the man that had framed him and Five-0 takes that man down, Roy gets a posthumous exoneration.
- Consummate Liar: When Julian Lynch is about to shoot Roy Parish in the climax, he tells Lauren that Roy's claim of innocence was the only truthful thing Roy had ever said, which is why it was so easy to pin the crime on him.
- Parting-Words Regret: It is only after Roy Parish is shot to death in front of his daughter Lauren by gangster Julian Lynch, who had framed Roy and then tricked Lauren into believing he was an FBI agent just trying to arrest Roy in order to track down and kill him, does Lauren break down crying and claim that she always believed in Roy's innocence despite never saying so before and accidentally leading his killer to him.
