After going through the Lambda teleporter, Gordon arrives on "Xen," an alien world that consists of floating islands and platforms in the middle of space, and is home to the alien creatures that he's been fighting up to this point. Upon his arrival, Gordon starts to hear a voice in his head; making it clear that some powerful being on Xen is now watching him.
With the help of the Long Jump Module he received at the tail end of the previous level, Gordon traverses floating platforms to reach a large floating island that has a deactivated alien teleporter in its center. Gordon gets the teleporter working, and proceeds to move on to the next area of the alien world.

- Alien Landmass: Apart from the brief glimpses Gordon experienced when the Resonance Cascade went off, this is the first actual look and exploration of the alien world of Xen.
