Based on Say Cheese and Die — Again!, book #44 of the original Goosebumps series.
Greg Banks is mocked by his teacher Mr. Saur over his story about the evil camera, and so decides to recover the camera and prove it's real.
The episode provides examples of:
- Adaptational Alternate Ending: The book ended with Greg bringing the camera to Saur's class intending to take a picture of him to get revenge for being such a jerk. Instead Mr. Saur takes the camera from him and takes a photo of Greg and the whole class. Here, Greg doesn't want to take a photo of Mr. Saur inspite of his behavior because he knows how dangerous the camera is, but Saur still tries to take it from him and this results in Greg accidentally taking a photo of him. Mr. Saur then comically loses all of his hair, exactly as the photo shows him doing, while Greg and the class laugh at his expense.
- Adaptational Karma: Unlike the book, Mr. Saur gets what's coming to him for mocking Greg — he loses all his hair thanks to the camera while everyone laughs at him.
- Flashback with the Other Darrin: Another young actress is used to portray Shari when she's had her picture taken in a flashback.
- Post–Wake-Up Realization: Greg wakes up and stretches his arms upward, only for his shirt to partially rip. Then he walks to the mirror and sees in horror that he's fat.
- Ring-Ring-CRUNCH!: Because Greg has suddenly become fat due to the camera, his bloated hand breaks the alarm clock that was ringing early in the morning.
- Say My Name: Greg calls out Spidey's name when he can't find the camera.
