Recap / Ghost Whisperer S 1 E 5 Lost Boys

Go To

While clearing out an old inn set for demolition, Melinda finds the ghosts of three boys and a dog who died in a fire back when the inn was an orphanage. Now Melinda must help them cross over before the inn is destroyed, binding their spirits to earth forever.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Broken Bird: Rat. He became bitter and lost hope of finding a family after his little brother was adopted without him. Soon after, his brother died in an accident. His friends know this, and refuse to put him through that again by crossing over without him.
  • Death of a Child: Three orphan boys and their dog died in a fire in the nineteen-forties.
    • The death of Rat’s little brother is mentioned, too.
  • Don't Split Us Up:
    • Vic and Marty refuse to cross over without Rat.
    • Rat was separated from his little brother, who was adopted without him. Rat never saw him again.
  • Orphanage of Fear: Technically, the orphanage only became scary after it burned down, with the three children haunting it.
  • Woobie of the Week: Rat, Vic and Marty, three orphan boys who died in a fire in the early twentieth century.
