Trent's sister Tina confesses to Eddie that she wrote him the love note on Valentine's Day, and they start dating, until Eddie's laziness ruins their relationship. Cattleman's Ranch wins an award that ends up attracting unwanted attention and might actually doom the restaurant. Evan seeks Jessica's help when he fails a fitness test, but Jessica is hiding the fact that she's even worse at running.
- Achievements in Ignorance: The "Golden Prune" plot is resolved in The Tag when Eddie finally finishes writing up new menus, but accidentally made the text too small for the vision-impaired elders, unintentionally driving them away.
- Be Careful What You Wish For: At first, Louis is excited that Cattleman's Ranch has won the "Golden Prune" award, which attracts an influx of elderly customers early in the morning...even after the person delivering it refers to the award as a "death sentence". Then they realize that the seniors are only ordering cheap drinks instead of food, and are staying at their tables gossiping for hours, preventing new customers from being seated.
- Bizarre Taste in Food: Trent doesn't think any meal is complete without a large serving of mayonnaise, regardless of whether or not it clashes with the rest of the meal.
- Embarrassing First Name: Tina, Trent's sister, actually has the titular first name of "Trentina".
- Embarrassment Plot: Jessica is completely unable to run more than eight steps without doubling over gasping for her breath, but her insistence that Evan excel to be the best in all aspects has her trying to hide this from him, faking injuries to avoid helping him train. When this leads to accidentally making him think she's ashamed of his poor athleticism, she comes clean, and shows her solidarity by joining him in a charity jogging event...in which Evan immediately acts as her crutch and continues to do so for the entire event.
- Internal Reveal: The episode starts with Eddie learning that the anonymous love note he received a few episodes ago was actually from Trent's sister, as revealed to the audience in that episode's final scene.
