Recap / Frasier S 06 E 21 When A Man Loves Two Women

Go To

Fraiser has begun dating Cassandra Stone, the beautiful woman with whom he spent Valentine's Day and everything is going quite well until Faye Moskowitz comes back to town and Frasier remembers how much he enjoyed spending time with her.

Tropes:

  • The Bus Came Back: Apparently Faye got on a bus to Paris shortly after her appearance in the Christmas episode and Roz forgot to tell Frasier (and the audience). Cassandra also returns having last been seen six episodes ago in "Three Valentines".
  • Foil: Frasier struggles to choose between Faye and Cassandra because the women are so different to each other. Cassandra is upper-class and career-driven, while Faye is more down-to-earth and followed her passion for baking over a law degree.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Frasier is determined to break up with Cassandra until he finds out she's also been seeing someone else and asks that they be exclusive instead. Niles immediately calls him out on doing it out of jealousy.
  • Heads or Tails?: Niles offers to help Frasier decide between Cassandra and Faye by flipping a coin. After Martin reminds him how clumsy he is Niles opts to turn the coin over on his hand rather than actually throw it. Before revealing the result Niles asks Frasier which answer he wants to hear because that's who he really wants to be with. As Frasier heads off to get dressed Niles offers to try an actual coin toss to help Martin choose what spread to put on his toast. He promptly hits himself in the face with the coin and knocks over several decorative items flailing around.
  • Napoleon Delusion: Hilariously lampshaded by Niles:
Frasier: (re: Faye) And to be fair, she was the first to plant her flag on Terra Frasier.
Niles: I'm starting to think Napoleon had a Frasier Complex.
  • Nice to the Waiter: One of the ways that Cassandra and Faye differ is shown by how they treat Daphne. Cassandra is dismissive and cold towards her, while Fraye is friendly and compliments her new haircut.
