Following up on the murder of some innocent people at a fast food outlet by a teenager, Foster travels through a portal and finds himself among two warring factions of street youths in a deserted fairground. Another GUA experiment? But why?

- Berserk Button: The kids who are returned to Earth are conditioned to go into a killing frenzy at the sight of food. Gary, the one who attracts Cade's attention, shoots nine people over fries and later stabs his therapist when someone walks past with fried chicken.
- Denied Food as Punishment: The kids fight every day, and the losing team doesn't eat.
- Downer Ending: Cade and the kids return to Earth, where the kids start a riot over popcorn and are attacked by police. In his voiceover, Cade muses that the Gua were wasting their time trying to make human kids violent, as "we're doing just fine on our own."
- Pocket Dimension: Cade is stuck in a Quantum Pocket made to look like a deserted theme park where teams of street kids are made to fight each other for food.
- Tyke Bomb: The purpose of the Gua experiment is to turn street kids into skilled fighters who associate food with the need to fight.
