Sky Lanterns is the 20th episode in Series 8 of Fireman Sam.
Mrs. Chen's class makes Sky Lanterns to celebrate Chinese New Year, but an impatient Norman Price releases his Sky Lantern too early and causes a forest fire.

- Mid-Season Upgrade: Bessie is given the ability to send out sticky foam, which soon comes in handy in putting out the forest fire that Norman's sky lantern has started.
- Patience Plot: Throughout the episode, Norman is incredibly eager to release his sky lantern as soon as possible. Unfortunately, he soon releases it at the worst possible time.
- The Pratfall: The pressure from a sticky foam hose is so strong, it knocks Elvis onto his rear.
- A Tragedy of Impulsiveness: Even when he is told that it will be dangerous to release his sky lantern when the wind is blowing towards the pine forest, Norman disregards the warnings from Moose, Gareth and Mrs. Chen and releases his lantern anyway, resulting in a forest fire.
- Winds Of Change: Just as Mrs. Chen's class are about to release their Sky Lanterns, the wind changes so that it will be blowing towards the pine forest, meaning that any lanterns that get released will float into the pine forest and set the trees on fire. Norman releases his anyway.
