Ruby, Astolfo, and Cu Chulainn are in the plains outside of the school. A few minutes later, Archer leaps to the area carrying Cinder in his arms. Cu Chulainn tells him they have a lot of nerve being late considering Archer started the challenge in the first place, but Archer says he had to make Mercury new legs. Anyway, Cu Chulainn will be the referee for this two on two fight.
Archer and Cinder throw their swords together and they explode, creating a smokescreen. Cinder then creates new swords with dust and uses the smoke to approach and attack Astolfo, who parries with his own sword. Ruby attempts to assist, but Archer, who is now a quarter of a mile away, starts firing arrows at her. She complains that's cheating, but Cu Chulainn points out fighting at a distance is the point of being an Archer.
As Ruby dodges arrows, she gets an idea and calls on her rocket propelled locker. Archer sees it flying through the sky and laughs, asking if she thinks that same trick would work on him. He tries to shoot it down, but Ruby suddenly jumps on it and starts riding it through the sky like a surfboard. Astolfo cheers, but Cinder knocks his sword out of his hand and tells him to pay attention. He summons Hippogriff, forcing her to back off, then mounts him and flies into the air. Cinder turns her swords into a bow and fires exploding arrows, but he pulls out a leather bound book and creates a force field with it. He then summons a lance called Trap of Argalia and attacks, the two dodging each other's attacks.
Ruby tries to ram Archer with the locker, but he Traces a copy of Mercury's boots and fires a blast of air, launching himself and kicking her off the locker and Crescent Rose out of her hands, before making the boots disappear. She asks if that is his Noble Phantasm, and he explains no, but he can copy weapons. She thinks that is so cool. He picks up and examines Crescent Rose, then passes it back to her before Tracing his own version of it. They clash weapons, until he pulls her cape over her head and steals her scythe, dual wielding the original and copy.
Cinder starts to run low on Dust, so she can't make more arrows. She says she came prepared and borrowed one of Archer's Noble Phantasms, summoning a spiral shaped sword. Cu Chulainn warns her it is dangerous to use someone else's Noble Phantasm without training, but she says she can handle it. She declares its name, "Caladbolg", and fires it from her bow. Curious of its strength, Astolfo activates his force field and takes it head on. It ends up exploding, blowing him out of the sky and injuring Hippogriff.
Ruby tries to assist, but Archer blocks her path. She notices something, and when he swings his replica Crescent Rose, she lightning fast darts in and pulls its trigger. It explodes in his hand, allowing her to take the original Crescent Rose back. He asks what just happened, so she explains he made the barrel too narrow so the bullet couldn't escape. He shrugs and says that firearms were never really his thing anyway, then summons Kanshou and Bakuya to clash with her scythe.
Astolfo is slightly injured from his fall and dropped Trap of Argalia. He makes Hippogriff disappear, telling him to rest. Cinder is now bleeding from her left eye from the strain of using Caladbolg. She turns her bow back into swords and attacks, but he throws his cape at her face and runs to his fallen sword. She throws one of her swords which explodes, then locks blades with him. Ruby and Archer wander near them and Archer asks if Cinder is all right, which she claims to be.
Archer and Cinder decide it is time to end this and they attack Astolfo. Ruby shoots Cinder's remaining sword and destroys it, but Archer says, "Overedge" and his swords triple in length with jagged edges. He slices Astolfo's sword in half, then slashes him across the chest with Bakuya. Then he passes Kanshou to Cinder and she slashes Astolfo across the chest, making an X shaped wound. They attack Ruby who desperately fends them off until she gets kicked down. Astolfo tries to get up, but Cinder stands over him and points Kanshou at his throat. As a last ditch effort, Ruby fires bullets to boost her speed and charges Archer, but he says, "Rho Aias!" and a flower shaped force field blocks her. She is knocked senseless from the impact and lands on her head. It starts bleeding and Crescent Rose is now damaged.
Cu Chulainn declares Cinder and Archer the winners. Cinder condescendingly suggests Archer show Ruby Unlimited Blade Works to cheer her up. Cu Chulainn scolds Cinder for being rude, helps Astolfo up, and says they should all go to the infirmary. As Ruby holds her head in pain, Archer attempts to help her up, but she suddenly releases a blinding silver light from her eyes that engulfs them all. They are all shocked to find themselves in a seemingly endless, white void. There are no shadows, and the floor is solid and flat like marble, but when Astolfo's blood drips on it, it goes right through and seemingly falls forever. Cinder asks what is this, and Archer guesses this is Ruby's Reality Marble.
Cinder starts yelling that it is not possible. Archer points out she told him herself that people with silver eyes are special, but she starts yelling more. Cu Chulainn tells her to calm down, while Astolfo asks Ruby to get them out of there, but Ruby is completely confused and has no idea what just happened. Yelling that Ruby doesn't deserve this power, Cinder raises Kanshou and tries to kill Ruby with it, but Archer makes it disappear and asks if she had lost her mind.
Suddenly, everyone is horrified and Archer tells Cinder not to move. A woman with silver eyes, wearing a white cloak and hood and wielding a white scythe, making her almost invisible, had appeared and put the blade against Cinder's throat. Cinder is horrified when the blade starts to cut her. Ruby sees the woman's face and gasps, because she is Summer Rose, her deceased mother, and calls out to her. The woman glances at Ruby, then focuses back on Cinder. Overwhelmed by all of this, Ruby faints. The void and the woman disappear, bringing them back to the real world. Astolfo cradles Ruby in his arms, while everyone else is shaken up. Archer sees a white rose petal fall and marvels at the Reality Marble.
