After Tony rocks it against Layla in a thrilling race through Los Angeles, SH1FT3R boss Shashi invites Tony's crew to join his group by pulling a job for him.
Tropes:
- Bait-and-Switch: Tony is about to use a powered glove on Scadan's partner... but then drops it and it gets lost during the car chase.
- Tony's crew steals Mitch's car and hacks their way into the race... and are immediately pegged as party-crashers because Tony is obviously not Mitch. Layla races him for fun, anyway, but fully intends to punish him and his crew for thinking they could walk in uninvited. Lucky for them, Shashi is impressed and gives them a pass.
- Brick Joke: Nowhere complains about how the kids put her in a real pickle. When Tony comments that she must not like pickles, she counters that she actually likes pickles... the food kind, because they're spicy and juicy like her. She's later seen eating pickles — Gary's pickles — and she refuses to share.
- Chekhov's Gun:
- The rocket boosters that Mitch used to win his race against Tony come in handy when Tony uses them to get ahead of the other racers on the downward spiral. The loose cable Cisco crudely patched with some gum comes into play moments later, disabling the boosters that Tony will need to jump the gap between the parking garages.
- Tony attempts to use a harpoon on Layla, but backs off when she threatens to use her saws on him. Later, he uses the harpoon to swing into the garage when he can't make the jump without rocket boosters.
- Death Glare: Tony is on the receiving end of some by the other racers at the after-party.
- How Do I Shot Web?: Tony has to fumble through the gadgets on Mitch's car, most of which are at best vaguely labeled. "Harpoon" is the only one that is obvious.
- Weaponized Car: All of the cars are weaponized. There's a giant pneumatic fist that comes out of one's grill, paintball shooters, sawblades on Layla's car, and so forth.
