Sergeant Joe Friday and Officer Bill Gannon are working in the homicide division. At 10am, a call comes in from a bank. A woman, named Miss Ohrmund, has been instructed by a kidnapper to get $75,000 note to release Adele Vincent, the wealthy owner of a line of beauty products. Friday and Gannon must work with Miss Ohrmund in order to recuse Adele Vincent as the kidnapper has requested to be paid by noon.

- Race Against the Clock: The whole case takes place in roughly 2 hours. Due to how fast everything is moving, Gannon is unable to record each serial numbers of the cash. Only about one-third of it is recorded. However, the issue with the money is moot as the police are able to capture the kidnapper and the bank president confirms that none of the money was taken.
- Self-Made Woman: According to Miss Ohrmund, Adele Vincent made most of her money by herself with her line of beauty products.
