Recap / Dogs In Space S 2 E 9 No Good Seed Goes Unpunished

Go To

Following the events of last episode, Garbage finds Stella to set things right, even if it will cost him more than his newly re-acquired Captain title. Things aren't much easier when the crew meets Stardust again for the first time in [dog] years.

Unfortunately, this isn't the only thing coming back to bite Garbage on the tail. The Shrubdubs are still furious over the dogs' heist of the planet seed vault and destruction of their station, and set their sights on M-Bark.

Tropes

  • Never My Fault: Stardust explains that the reason he left was because the Council considered him "a jerk with a god complex". Later, the aliens that taught him his zodiac powers consider him... "a jerk with a god complex". It seems after his actions made Garbage turn his back on him, he still didn't get the message.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Parodied by the title:
    • Garbage tried to steal a world-restoring seed from the Shrubdub vault last season, and his failure caused serious damage to the station. The tree creatures have not forgotten this and plot revenge.
    • Stardust helped Garbage become Captain of the Pluto, but caused Stella to step down under manipulated stress. Once Garbage confessed what happened, Stella becomes justifiably furious. Garbage is kicked out of the crew and forced to return to the tea shop.
  • Sequel Episode: To "Speak".
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Stella has frequently put up or berated Garbage for his mistakes, but Garbage's confession makes her realize that his biggest problem is always trying to fix the messes he made rather than try to avoid them in the first place. She doesn't hold back in telling him this.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Stella finally loses it after Garbage confesses about what happened last episode. After yelling at him and savagely explains why he is a terrible leader and crewmate, she requests the Council offscreen to give Garbage the boot from the Pluto.
