Japanese Title: Steel Angel, Shakkoumon
The kids travel again to the Digital World in the hopes of protecting the last Holy Stone from BlackWarGreymon.
BlackWarGreymon himself continues to search for the last Holy Stone, with Archnemon and Mummymon looking on in amusement. However, they find that it’s dangerous to stay around him when he’s attacking everything, and flee. They find themselves at what looks like a Chinese restaurant, run by a Digitamamon. After smelling the delicious food, the two of them decide they’re hungry enough and decide to go in and eat. A Bakumonnote welcomes them and serves them wonton ramen.
The kids stop by the Chinese restaurant, tracking down BlackWarGreymon. Iori notices that Hikari and Miyako have been getting along much better ever since they became Jogress partners, and Takeru tells Iori that soon they’ll be able to have Patamon and Armadimon Jogress, pointing out that they seem to be getting along so well that they’re acting as if they’re already there.
Since the smell of the Chinese food is so good, the kids decide to eat there. Iori is initially irritated at the group deciding to do something like eat food when they should be hunting BlackWarGreymon, but realizes what he’s doing and wonders if his stiffness is causing his inability to instigate Jogress evolution with Takeru.
The soup is so delicious that Archnemon demands to know the recipe from Digitamamon, but Digitamamon declares the recipe to be a secret. As Archnemon and Mummymon are about to demand the answer via force, the kids walk in right on them (and also find out that the Digitamamon running this restaurant happens to be a friend of a certain one they know). Archnemon and Mummymon assume their Digimon forms, and the kids have their Digimon evolve and attack, but Aquilamon and Tailmon are unable to Jogress evolve due to being too hungry. Fortunately, Digitamamon and Bakumon make a run for it, and Archnemon and Mummymon get distracted and run after them to find out the soup recipe.
Ken arrives soon after, and the kids are about to take off after Archnemon and Mummymon, but Iori stops them and tells them that they won’t be able to take on BlackWarGreymon if their Digimon are hungry. The kids thus use the restaurant’s kitchen to make ramen.
When their car breaks down, Archnemon and Mummymon find themselves stranded, but end up running into a spring full of the Chinese soup they were eating earlier. Mummymon tries to drink from it, but Digitamamon and Bakumon try to stop him, saying that those who try to drink from the “holy Chinese soup spring” are “punished”. This only makes Mummymon want the soup more and he takes a lick from the spring, only for the ground to start shaking...and a Holy Stone to emerge from the spring. Mummymon accidentally pulls the outer ring off the stone, causing it to glow...
The kids and their Digimon manage to fill themselves up with food, and Takeru, happy to see that Iori is enjoying himself, tells Iori that maybe they’ll be able to use Jogress evolution. Suddenly, the kids see the light that had come from the Holy Stone, which has also attracted BlackWarGreymon to the area. The kids arrive to the site with their Digimon, and BlackWarGreymon blasts Archnemon and Mummymon away before turning to the kids. Takeru and Iori decide it’s time to use Jogress evolution, and as Stingmon and XV-mon Jogress evolve to Paildramon and Tailmon and Aquilamon Jogress evolve to Silphymon, Ankylomon and Angemon follow up by Jogress evolving to Shakkoumon.
Takeru and Iori rejoice at having able to achieve Jogress evolution, and, now with three Jogress-evolved Digimon on their side, the kids prepare to take on BlackWarGreymon.
Tropes
- Butt-Monkey: Poor Mummymon's put through the wringer in this episode. He's hit by Arukenimon three times, is nearly suffocated by her, bites his tongue after being jumped on, falls into the soup spring, falls from a great height, nearly drowns in the spring after catching a rock Arukenimon threw at him, and gets blasted off alongside her by Blackwargreymon.
- Mining for Cookies: Rather than being cooked, the soup Digitamamon serves turns out to come from a spring.
- Tongue Trauma: When trying to stop Mummymon from drinking from the soup spring, Digitamamon and Bakumon cause Mummymon to bite very hard down on his tongue. Unfortunately for Mummymon, his teeth also happen to be extremely sharp...
- A Twinkle in the Sky: Arukenimon and Mummymon get blasted off by Blackwargreymon.
- Villains Out Shopping: Arukenimon and Mummymon take a break from evil-doing to eat at Digitamamon's restaurant.
- Wingding Eyes: Arukenimon's eyes turn into spirals as she's blasted off.
